Guess the mystery wine lover

Wednesday 13 August 2008 • 1 min read

I’ve just published an account of the most amazing dinner complete with all the great vintages of Cheval Blanc since 1945 in tasting notes. The wines were all provided by one mystery person.

Below is a brief video of the empty bottles. In it you can hear this person teasing me about my gluttony. Have a go in the Add a comment box below at guessing the identity of our mysterious benefactor. He is obviously male (I don’t know that many female wine lovers with a collection of classic Chevals, alas). The only other clue I will divulge is that this person is well known in Britain but not that well known elsewhere, I’m afraid.
The first person to supply the correct answer – perfect spelling, please – below will be sent a dvd of both of our award-winning BBC tv series – Vintners’ Tales and Jancis Robinson’s Wine Course – making a total six hours’ vinous viewing. As soon as I spot the winning answer I will say so. Best of luck, and don't forget to put your name and email address in the comment box if you are not a purple pager.
