From the outside, the world of single malt Scotch whisky can occasionally seem to be a rather hidebound place where tradition trumps all else and innovation is secondary to maintaining a respectful status quo. In that regard, it’s a lot like golf, Scotland’s other great contribution to life on planet Earth.
