Chile's second biggest wine producer Santa Rita are very keen to make a splash and, being owned by one of Chile's grand industrialist families, are not short of a peso. So it was that, after Justerini & Brooks's 2011 burgundy tasting, I took my burgundy-soaked tastebuds off to Claridge's to participate in a blind tasting of four of Chile's top Cabernets (three made by Santa Rita or a sister company) and eight iconic Cabernet-dominated wines from around the world.
