A miscellany of Italian tasting notes follows, amassed in the last few months from, variously, the likes of the Berry Bros Anteprima event and the generic Wines of Sicily tasting. There are some well-known and some significantly lesser-known names represented, including a new find for me: the 2007 Sololoro, made by Fontecolle in the Umbrian DOC of Montefalco (and pictured above). It's a Sangiovese-based blend that tasted more Bordelais than Tuscan to me, but whatever you call it, I found it utterly convincing and moreish, and an especially good buy at the discounted case price of £16.57, as I see...
