In the spirit of this special week of outside contributions, I'm asking you to recommend a wine of the week, or even your wine of the year. What would be most useful would be seriously good value, non-obvious choices rather than a rollcall of accepted great names. They needn't be very, very cheap (though that would be nice) but shall we put an ideal maximum price of £20 or $40 per bottle just to keep your recommendations of most general interest? Although if you drank something absolutely sensationally and perhaps unexpectedly good over Christmas and want to spread the word then by all means do so.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what is proposed. Any indications of price and availability would be much appreciated.
