日本にあるワイナリーのおよそ90％は年間生産量が100kℓ未満と小規模だ。そのため日本国内のレストランや小売店全てで日本ワインが入手できるわけではない。つまりワインを通じて日本ワインの現状を知る最良の方法は、産地に赴き現地のワイナリーを訪問することと言える。

そこで最初にご紹介したいのはワイン造りの歴史が最も長く、誰もが認める日本ワイン生産の中心地、山梨県だ。山梨は2013年、日本で初めてGIを取得した県でもある。主要な生産地である甲府盆地は複数の山脈に囲まれた日照豊かな沖積平野だ...
