Paolo Berta, Bujeu 2019 Monferrato

17

Full bottle 1,283 g. Nebbiolo, Barbera blend. Six months in barrel.
Pine needles and dark cherry and bright, peppery spice. Really alive, with just a hint of smoked cigar, allspice and smoky venison through that deeply umbral, sweet, velvety spread of dark blue-black and black-purple fruit. The tannins have a sinewy strength but only seem to squeeze even more juiciness from the fruit. A fragrantly herbal finish. (TC)
