Seméli, Reserve Agiorgitiko 2017 Neméa

17

100% Agiorgitiko, harvested 15–17 September 2017. Five-day cold soak, followed by 20-day fermentation at 23–25 °C then aged for 12 months in French oak casks and 12 months in bottle. Bottled 12 March 2019. RS 1.8 g/l, TA 5.2 g/l, pH 3.48, SO2 total 95 mg/l, SO2 free 28 mg/l.
Mid ruby. Sturdier than the Thymiopoulos Alta Xinomavro but very good and with the same amount of interest. Good freshness after the spicy start. Tannins well receded but they are still there in the background. There’s a real kick to this seriously underpriced wine. VGV
