Now that the wines have been sorted into groups by producer, you can sort the wines within those groups by score or appellation.

DOMAINE LOUIS MICHEL

White

Somewhat closed on the nose, but there is pleasant apple and blossom character on the palate. Light body, some bitterness to finish. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2019
Price: £194 per case of 12 ib O W Loeb
White

Verdant nose with a crab apple character – but then a rather dilute palate. Finishes with a short salty aftertaste. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2020
Price: £202 per case of 12 ib O W Loeb
White

Ripe apple with a lovely pithy skin character – much more depth on the palate than their Fôret. Chewy and textural – excellent. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2025
Price: £115 per case of 6 ib O W Loeb
White

Green citrus, white flowers, bright acidic definition on the finish. Attractive leesy character on the nose. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2025
Price: £115 per case of 6 ib O W Loeb
White

Tank sample. Ripe, sweet apricot fruit and a glossy, viscous palate. Good length, but it isn't quite dense or complex enough for a very long life, methinks. (RH)

Drink: 2018 – 2025
Price: £179 per case of 6 ib O W Loeb

DOMAINE MICHELOT

White

Light and sweet and without quite enough substance. (JR)

Drink: 2017 – 2021
Price: £260 per case of 12 ib Jeroboams
White

Floral and sweet and rich. A bit too much. (JR)

Drink: 2018 – 2025
Price: £520 per case of 12 ib Jeroboams

DOMAINE ALAIN MICHELOT
Very chunky, traditional style.

Red

Relatively dark crimson. Light and slightly cheesy on the nose. Then a sensation of fermented cough pastilles. Slightly sludgy tannins but solid enough. (JR)

Drink: 2024 – 2032
Price: £295 per case of 12 ib Goedhuis & Co
Red

Dark crimson. Pretty reduced nose. Edgy, marked acidity. Rather sludgy texture – could do with fresher fruit. Slight lack of precision. Raw finish. (JR)

Drink: 2024 – 2032
Price: £460 per case of 12 ib Goedhuis & Co
Red

Refined, penetrating nose. Satisfying even if it already wears its heart on its sleeve. Lots of delivery for those looking for quite traditional red burgundy. (JR)

Drink: 2024 – 2033
Price: £460 per case of 12 ib Goedhuis & Co
Red

Indistinct, stolid nose. Bitter purple fruits on the palate. Ticks the boxes in a slightly rugby-player style. (JR)

Drink: 2025 – 2040
Price: £490 per case of 12 ib Goedhuis & Co
Red

Much more lifted than the other wines I have tasted from this stable. Lean and lively – quite different! But not a standout. (JR)

Drink: 2025 – 2040
Price: £575 per case of 6 ib Goedhuis & Co

DOMAINE FRANÇOIS MIKULSKI

White

Zingy, grapefruit character and plentiful acidic punch. A good aperitif style. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 0
Price: £60 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines
White

Rounded, fleshy, creamy – but the fruit is very restrained and dry on the finish. Decent if a bit plain. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2018
Price: £85 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines
White

Extrovert and luscious nose with equal amounts of oak spice and rich stone fruit flavours. Shots of lime juice on the finish. Grippy phenolic feel – has the weight and breadth of good Meursault. (RH)

Drink: 2018 – 2023
Price: £199 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines
White

Impressive mineral character – flinty and saline and smoky, with a pithy green apple fruit with loads of freshness and density. Very good – justifies its premium. (RH)

Drink: 2019 – 2025
Price: £325 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines
White

Very bright apple fruit, smashing acidic frame and a great deal of punch on the mid palate. Lots of green citrus – if anything, this is less fleshy and mouth-filling than the typical Meursault – but delicious all the same, and very lengthy. (RH)

Drink: 2019 – 2025
Price: £325 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines
Red

Quite sweet fruit on the nose, finely grained texture on the palate and a polished, smooth mouthfeel to finish. Powerful fruit which balances well with the body, acid and tannin. Very tasty, and lots of concentration for ageing. (RH)

Drink: 2020 – 2035
Price: £180 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines

DOMAINE JEAN-MARC MILLOT

Red

Updated 22 Feb 2017: the sample tasted during the primeurs in Jan 2017 tasted to me as if it had problems with brett. Dom Millot contacted me after our notes were published to tell me they had had the wine analysed and it was not affected by brett, and they kindly sent me a fresh sample. I can only assume that the sample had deteriorated on its way to London because this fresh sample could not have been more different from the sample I tasted in January. The following is my new note. I have also changed my score and suggested drink dates.
Mid to deep cherry red. This is totally clean, with plenty of dark-red fruit though the overall effect is made more savoury by a light note of spice and no noticeable oak sweetness. On the palate, dry, slightly chewy tannins but in balance with the fruit. (JH)

Drink: 2019 – 2025
Price: £182 per case of 12 ib H2Vin
Red

There’s a certain farmyard air to the nose, and the palate has an overripe fruit character. Easy-drinking, but not the most sophisticated of 2015s. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2020
Price: £185 per case of 12 ib Handford Wines
Red

Cask sample. Mid to deep crimson. Rich-fruited and spicy on the nose. Plenty of dark, ripe fruit, generous and rounded already. Dark and savoury on the finish. Compact but softening tannins. (JH)

Drink: 2019 – 2025
Price: £105 per case of 6 ib Lay & Wheeler, £TBC Clarion Wines
Red

Cask sample. Sweet dark fruit and some oak sweetness set the tone. Chewy and leaner than I expected on the palate but there's plenty of fruit to balance the definite framework. Wait. (JH)

Drink: 2020 – 2030
Price: £TBC per case of 12 ib Clarion Wines
Red

Cask sample. Mid to deep crimson. Pretty oaky on the nose at the moment and a little meaty. Really very meaty on the palate (brett?). Savoury and persistent but not sure about that meaty character – I hope it is the condition of the sample and not the nature of the wine. (JH)

Drink: 2020 – 2030
Price: £600 per case of 6 ib Clarion Wines
Red

Delicious perfume on the nose, but the palate has a pretty wild volatility about it, giving a strong glue scent on the finish. Not for me. (RH)

Drink: 2020 – 2030
Price: £525 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines
Red

Much more savoury and controlled than their Échezeaux, with a lovely clove and anise spice on the palate. Very long, very aromatic aftertaste with some vegetal stemmy hints as well as the spice and just-ripe black cherry. (RH)

Drink: 2019 – 2031
Price: £575 per case of 6 ib Handford Wines

DOMAINE ANDRÉ MOINGEON

White

Neutral fruit, some chalky notes. Glossy and smooth on the palate, which finishes with an attractive dairy character and some salinity. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2020
Price: £210 per case of 12 ib The Sampler
White

Light palate, attractive minty flavour and a little lime citrus fruit. Fairly generous body with a nice leesy weight. Finely balanced, but a little conservative in flavour range. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2021
Price: £280 per case of 12 ib The Sampler
White

Creamy, dairy-infused nose. Juicy and generous palate, with more weight than acid on the finish. Polished and balanced and well made in a more voluminous style. (RH)

Drink: 2018 – 2022
Price: £350 per case of 12 ib The Sampler

DOMAINES DES MOIROTS

White

Floral nose and a bit tight on the palate. Bit mean. (JR)

Drink: 2020 – 2024
Price: £60 per case of 6 ib Howard Ripley
Red

Quite sharp and pointy. Edgy tannins but the fruit is certainly ripe enough. Edgy and grainy but not that welcoming. (JR)

Drink: 2019 – 2024
Price: £60 per case of 6 ib Howard Ripley
Red

Quite an intense nose. Very rough tannins. Lots of chew and not quite enough ripe fruit at the moment but it may well grow into a swan. (JR)

Drink: 2021 – 2027
Price: £99 per case of 6 ib Howard Ripley

DOMAINE MONGEARD-MUGNERET

Red

Crunchy black fruit, simple and light on the palate. Not bad, but there are more interesting 2015 Bourgognes elsewhere. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2018
Price: £TBC imported by Liberty Wines
Red

Cask sample. Generous oak spice on the nose and palate. Finely brushed tannin and charming acidic verve on the finish. Overall fairly light in concentration, and not especially complex either. (RH)

Drink: 2018 – 2022
Price: £TBC imported by Liberty Wines
Red

Ripe, succulent redcurrant fruit. A bit dilute on the palate – lacks flesh, and instead has an almost bitter edge to the finish. (RH)

Drink: 2017 – 2020
Price: £TBC imported by Liberty Wines
Red

Cask sample. Red cherry, very fine clay-textured tannin. Ripe fruit but not much in the way of depth or intensity on the finish. Worth giving a few years' benefit of the doubt? (RH)

Drink: 2018 – 2028
Price: £TBC imported by Liberty Wines
