These 139 tasting notes are grouped alphabetically by producer (sur)name and within those groups are ordered whites before reds, ascending from generic through village, premiers and grands crus. You can change the order within groups as you prefer using the menu below.

47°N 3°E (Guillaume Michaut)

White

Name is the coordinates of the winery.
Floral, fine, attractive nose. Juicy and well judged with real drive. GV
(JR)

Drink: 2023 – 2030
Price: £135 per case of 6 ib Berry Bros & Rudd
White

Côte de Savant is a lieu-dit within the Beauroy Premier Cru.
Oak is a bit too obvious on the nose. Perhaps it will abate but I think there are better bets.
(JR)

Drink: 2027 – 2035
Price: £210 per case of 6 ib Berry Bros & Rudd

Domaine Stéphane Aladame (Montagny)

White

Eat your heart out Louis Latour Montagny available at £18 currently! Sweetish and easy to like – though, oddly, I wouldn’t mind a bit more acidity in this wine! Easy to like in the short term but without an excess of distinction. (JR)

Drink: 2023 – 2026
Price: £41.99 RRP imported by Liberty Wines
White

Much more grip and structure than the Découverte 2021. Good combination of acidity and flavour though definitely different from a Côte d’Or white. Medium finish. (JR)

Drink: 2023 – 2028
Price: £42.99 RRP imported by Liberty Wines

Bertrand Ambroise (Premeaux-Prissey)

White

Not very expressive at the moment, but opens to ripe lemon fruit. A little bit heavy, though the acidity is doing its best to bring balance. Sweet and sour on the finish with the acidity dominating. (JH)

Drink: 2024 – 2027
Price: £136.50 per case of 6 ib Montrachet Fine Wine Merchants
Red

Freshly scented with red fruits and noticeable oak sweetness/spice. Plenty of juicy fruit, but the oak is intrusive and the tannins a little bit hard, leaving a bitter aftertaste. (JH)

Drink: 2024 – 2030
Price: £136.50 per case of 6 ib Montrachet Fine Wine Merchants
Red

Cask sample. Mid to deep crimson. Ripe, sweet black fruit with a touch of dried fruits. Tough and chewy. Not much fun. (JH)

Drink: 2025 – 2028
Price: £186.50 per case of 6 ib Montrachet Fine Wine Merchants

Domaine Arlaud (Morey-St-Denis)

Red

Bright pale crimson. Just a hint of mousiness on the nose (though admittedly I am extremely sensitive to this). Rather hard and bitter on the end. More fruit please! (JR)

Drink: 2025 – 2028
Price: £126 per case of 6 ib Stannary Wine

Domaine de l'Arlot (Premeaux-Prissey)

Harvest commenced on 20 September –...
