LA wakes up to wine

I'm indebted to my friend and colleague Gerald Asher for drawing my attention to this great report from the LA Times on the wine revolution currently taking place in and around the sprawling city of Los Angeles.

Where once the Angelenos mainlined mineral water and early nights, they are apparently hoovering up wine by the glass programs designed to introduce them to the delights of German Spätburgunder, echt Lambrusco and New Zealand Gewurztraminer. If this article is to be believed, the conurbation is alive with sommeliers racing round trying to assemble a more elcectic and wider range of exotic bottles...
