Liv-ex, the London-based fine wine electronic trading platform, has long published a monthly wine fine index à la FTSE or Dow Jones, but is now launching a weekly 'claret chip index' based on the performance of the 31 top red bordeaux that constitute an estimated 57% of their trade. This will be calculated at 5pm each Friday London time and published at www.liv-ex.com every Monday morning – a reflection of just how volatile the fine wine market is currently?
