Last night's great Wine Options evening organised by Bibendum Wine in London in aid of Wine Relief was a great success, thanks in part to some very generous bidders. They secured the delicious likes of Trimbach Clos Ste Hune 1990 left over from a tasting I will be reportiing on in wine news on 23 oct, a magnum of Petaluma Coonawarra 1994, and a top-of-the-range Screwpull, the chrome and 'diamond' LM-2000 Lever Model in even fancier wood and glass case which is certainly hugely powerful – though I must confess to preferring the lighter, plain black LM-200 or LM-300 models...
