American Wine Project, Water + Sky Frontenac 2020 USA

16

From grapes grown in Filmore County, Minnesota. Whole-cluster-fermented Frontenac, aged for 12 months in older barrel.
Light aromas are followed by a savoury, dark-fruited palate. This is a fuller-bodied red wine that still carries the elevated acidity of the variety for a long finish. But it would appeal to those who appreciate a hardier red without pushing all the way into the plusher, richer flavours sometimes found there. Notes of tobacco leaf, a bit of cedar and black plum.
