Fermented in new 500-litre barrels and then aged 6-12 months in two-year-old barrels.
Straightforward with a slight sour freshness on the finish and plenty of cedary fruit flavour. (JH)

Inviting dusty, lemon aroma. This is much better than any of the Aegerter reds I have just tasted. Clean-cut, bone dry, with just a slight chalky grip. The texture and the freshness giving length. (JH)

Definite oaky aroma – creamy, mealy spice. On the palate, the oak is quite present too but balanced by bright lemon fruit. Simple but satisfying. (JH)

Malo and 8-12 months’ ageing in barrel.
Deep cherry colour. Intense, dark-red fruit with both fruit and oak sweetness on the nose, a hint of vanilla. Firmly textured, with chalky tannins but with the just enough fruit to balance. Fresh and youthful but a bit drying on the finish. (JH)

Lemon sherbet nose, white fruit with a cream and custard character on the finish. Full bodied and mouth-filling – perhaps too imprecise for acidophiles. (RH)

Tangy herbal/hay aroma. Then unexpectedly creamy and soft (for Aligoté) on the palate. (JH)

Hint of oak spice at first, followed through on the palate. Gentle and easy, no edges. (JH)

Fresh creamy citrus, smells very pure fruited with only a touch of oak (vanilla cream). A lees richness on the palate of a fresh but gentle white. Falls away a little on the finish. (JH)

This has the gentleness of the Bourgogne Chardonnay but a little more intensity and more obvious creamy/mealy oak on the palate, adding depth and length. Finishes with precision and freshness. (JH)

Organic. Bright, light purplish crimson. Tight, bright, fresh with a fine tannic texture. Juicy, lightish and thirst-quenching. (JH)

Bright, simple plum fruit. Drinkable and crowd-pleasing. Reliable, classic Bourgogne. (RH)

Strong floral lift on the nose, and also quite a bit of medicinal aroma. Menthol and cherry on the palate. Chewy tannin, short-ish finish. (RH)

Cask sample. Violet, blackberry, toasted spice. Firm tannic grip – needs much more time to soften and evolve. Austere finish – very traditional for the village. (RH)

Cask sample. More red fruit than their basic Nuits-St-Georges. Attractive powdery texture and a nice floral bouquet on the finish. Still quite raw – I hope it will harmonise in bottle. (RH)

Creamy vanilla spice at first, then sweet red fruit on the palate. Very fine, powdery tannin that coats the palate on the finish. Elegant and refreshing. (RH)

Cask sample. Tremendous iodine and leather character on the nose, and lots of black fruit. Succulent and generous on the palate with the most perfect acid refreshment on the palate. Really lovely and esoteric – grand cru burgundy that is thoroughly worthy of the name. (RH)

Cask sample. Nice vegetal aromas as well as plump red bramble fruit. Very fragrant on the palate – violet, cherry, aniseed. Not massively concentrated, but has enough complexity to develop nicely. (RH)
