Landmark TNs – alternative varieties

This session, the last on day 3 of the Landmark Australia tutorial, was led by Max Allen, British-born but Melbourne-dwelling wine writer and instigator of the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show, and Louisa Rose of Yalumba, where a great deal of time and effort has gone into researching lesser-known varieties (most famously successful with Viognier). It took place within the highly polished walls of a former fermentation tank at Yalumba's Angaston winery, next door to the tank in which we had lunch.
