MW champagne tasting in San Francisco and New York

The Institute of Masters of Wine (North America) announce details of their 2007 Annual Champagne Tasting, being held in both San Francisco (17 Sep), and in New York (24 Sep). 

The tasting will feature a broad array of champagnes handpicked by Masters of Wine and currently on the market from every category: non-vintage, vintage, rosé, blanc de blancs, prestige cuvée, and sweeter (dosé) styles, including extra-sec, sec, demi-sec, and rich.  Producers will vary from the most well-known and established houses to exciting small growers, and the wines will include many rare and difficult to find cuvées.

Participating producers include L Aubry Fils, Henri Billiot, Bonnaire, Gaston Chiquet, Deutz, Dom Pérignon, René Geoffroy, Pierre Gimmonet, Gratien, Mark Hébart, Charles Heidsieck, Piper Heidsieck, Krug, Jean Lallement, Jean Milan, Moët & Chandon, Mumm, Bruno Paillard, Perrier-Jouët, Philipponnat, Pierre Peters, Roederer, De Venoge, Taittinger, Tarlant, Varnier-Fannière, Veuve Clicquot, Vilmart and others.

Each IMW tasting is strictly limited to 300 attendees, and tickets will be administered in time slots, with 150 tasters being admitted from 12 to 2 pm,and 150 tasters being admitted from 2.30 to 4.30 pm.  Tickets are $50 with a reduced admission of $35 being offered to Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and Wine & Spirit Education Trust students.
