In 2025, Rioja celebrated its centenary, and to mark the anniversary for JancisRobinson.com, I proposed a tasting to the Consejo Regulador of the DOCa Rioja. I invited each winery to submit a single wine, which I tasted blind. (I firmly believe that blind tasting is the most honest way to approach wine: it strips away reputation, hierarchy and expectation, and forces the taster to focus exclusively on what is in the glass.)
