Bordeaux 2006 – snippets from the northern Médoc


It always seems strange to me that such a Catholic country as France doesn’t take a national holiday on Good Friday. So here we are, gearing up for yet another gruelling day of tasting (back to the right bank today) while everyone back home in Britain is sleeping in.
 
Yesterday involved tasting nearly 30 Saint-Juliens, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphes and superior Haut-Médocs blind and then filling in the gaps by visiting those properties who don’t submit their wines to the rigours of the UGC tastings.
