Bordeaux – 2011 and 2008 compared

Last month Berry Bros invited dozens of leading Bordeaux producers over to London to show their 2011s alongside the vintage with which they are most often compared, the 2008s. Below are my impressions. Pictured is the label of the most impressive wine – and the one whose 2011 was most obviously better than their 2008. (Ch Climens have not yet blended ther 2011, as usual, so did not show theirs.)

Of the 70 wines I tasted in total, there were 33 precise pairs and of these I thought 13 had a better 2011 than a 2008, 11 a better 2008...
