Burgundy 2012 – a guide to our coverage

29 Jan - Today we publish our final instalment of 2012 burgundy tasting notes before tomorrow moving on to Walter's wonderfully comprehensive and prompt tasting report on the just-released 2009 Brunellos. We hope you have found it useful that we made our burgundy notes accessible as early as possible, taking into account the reduced quantities available.

13 Jan - As we explained in last Friday's email and in this Burgundy 2012 en primeur thread in our Members' forum, to help you make buying decisions we are publishing this guide to our collections of tasting notes on 2012 burgundies while they are works in progress as well as to our more general articles, all listed below.

Purple Pagers are therefore able to access immediately the 2,000+ (28 Jan – which, deeply mysteriously, shrank to a mere 1,600+ over last weekend!) tasting notes already uploaded as I write this, although the final ordering will only be done when all the tasting notes have been uploaded, a massive operation which may not be finished until the end of the month. However, Purple Pagers can also put any specific wine in our tasting notes search box to check whether we have published a note on it.

I spent a very intensive week tasting in Burgundy last month and attended four négociant tastings in London late last year (Drouhin, Jadot, Louis Latour and Colin-Morey, who was unfortunately in Asia during my Burgundy visits). Julia and Richard have already attended a total of 11 tastings in London and there are 13 more next week in our joint diary – including no fewer than five on Tuesday. (Fortunately my ENT specialist – see Labyrinthitis – advice please – has given me permission to try to attend one or two.)

TASTING NOTES

Please note that these tasting notes, arranged in groups alphabetically by producer (sur)name, are Works in Progress that are in the process of being updated, added to, and edited, so they are not yet in the pristine order and condition that they will be by the end of January. If you see any glaring errors, please do let us know via the Contact us button (choosing the Content Problems option in the Subject line) on the left at the bottom of any page.
