Insead triumphs again in taste-off

French polish seems to help when it comes to blind-tasting wine. The third Financial Times/Pol Roger Business School Alumni Tasting Competition was held recently in London and resulted in yet another win for Insead. Last year it was a team who studied at the European business school in Fontainebleau in the 1970s who carried off the silver trophy. This year it was, by quite a margin, a considerably younger team, captained by Claudia Pendred (a veteran of the Oxbridge wine-tasting competition, now also sponsored by Pol Roger). Joint second was Insead's third team and one made up of the FT staff (I chaired rather than braved tasting the eight wines blind myself). Just behind was Harvard's first team, but London Business School's first team was only just behind them.
