Puglia – the tasting notes
See also my overview of Puglian wine, as well as 114 tasting notes taken on the same trip but from other regions in southern Italy.
As I confessed in A foretaste of Puglia, I visited the sun-baked heel of Italy for the very first time earlier this month. In the past I had tended to find Puglian wines either too much or too little – the carefully made ones could easily be too strong to fit into my regular drinking pattern while the cheaper, more mass-market ones seemed mysteriously vapid with very much lower alcohol levels.
