So Spanish whites age?

The first Copa de Londres, a competition devised by Paul Shinnie of Rhône to Rioja, importer into the UK of Pazo de Señoráns from Rías Baixas, to highlight the longevity of Spanish white wines (beyond traditional white rioja), was held this week at the commercial offices of the Spanish embassy in London. Shinnie felt that although there is widespread recognition of Spanish red wines' ability to age (see, for example, Jancis's Most inspiring tasting ever?), older whites seldom get a chance to shine.
