ドム・セバスチャン・ダンプ(Dom Sébastien Dampt)(シャブリ)
Precise, elegant, not at all shouty, but there is finesse and purity in spades here. Seems good value. Mineral aftertaste. Crisp, pebbly, salty edge. Not a blockbuster but certainly speaks to its origins. (AHW)
A subtle step-up from the Petit Chablis. More concentration, more acidity and a lot more minerality on show. Plenty to like. A Chablis for Chablis-lovers. Has persistence on the finish, with pebbly, mineral notes abounding. GV (AWH)
Aged in stainless-steel tanks. Tank sample.
Linear example of Vaillons, with the acidity that often characterises this premier cru. Super-fresh, linear – lots of excitement and drive. White flowers on the nose, peach fruit on the palate. Zesty, long and lingering aftertaste. (AWH)
Aged in steel vats. Tank sample.
Shows the extra weight typical of Fourchaume. Lacks a bit of the subtlety and finesse of Vaillons but has plenty of heft and density. Yellow-peach/roasted apricot character. Plenty of acidity to finish. Long aftertaste. Another fine example of premier cru Chablis in this trying vintage. (AWH)
Aged in concrete tanks. Tank sample.
Has the warmth of the Beugnons site allied to a mineral edge from the ageing in concrete tank. Intriguing. Not a premier cru one sees so often but there is a lot to commend this cuvée. Marries warmth with classic Chablis finesse, acidity and drive. Lime/lemon zest to finish. (AWH)
ドメーヌ・ヴァンサン・ダンプ(Domaine Vincent Dampt)(シャブリ)
This and the Chablis bottled in May 2025 – a little later than usual to increase the volume in the mouth.
More stony than fruity, delicate but not insubstantial. Direct citrus drive on the palate and gently rounded on the finish. (JH)
Bottled in May 2025.
A notch up in intensity from the Petit Chablis. Both stony and pure piercing citrus-grapefruit. Gently creamy on the palate balanced by deep, crisp freshness. So pure and sustained. (JH)
Bottled in August 2025.
Intense lime fruit. Bright and open. Rounded and surprisingly gentle but perfectly balanced. You could drink this now – but no rush. (JH)
Fresh lime and herbs suffuse the minerally outline of the wine. There’s even a creamy sweetness to the aroma in a bone-dry wine. Both fresh and intensely moreish. Perfectly proportioned and rounded on the long finish despite the crisp acidity. (JH)
A touch smoky on first impression, with underlying citrus and grapefruit pith. Crushed stones. Deep, slightly chewy, almost as powerful as the Vaillons. Very long. (JH)
