I tasted many a good 2015 from Pessac-Léognan and a few from Graves on its southern boundary. Ch Smith Haut Lafitte winemaker Fabien Teitgen claims that 2015 weather was very similar to that of 1998 and the result is that Pessac-Léognan and the right bank fared particularly well – especially if there was some water-retaining clay in the soil to see the vines through the drought of June and July.
