Maturing ruby with bricky rim. Rather stalky and reduced on the nose and very closed on the palate, too, with only hints of sweetness. Hard to see where this is going to go. (WS)

Concentrated mid ruby with orange tinges. Already a little progressed on the nose with hints of gingerbread and Amarena cherry. Generous on the palate but well balanced and not too heavy. Crunchy tannins on the finish. (WS)

Developing mid ruby. Stalky with hints of tar and already quite developed. A nose that seems to be stripped of its fruit. The palate is marginally better but the stalky tar notes distort this. Clumsy, to say the very least. How this managed to pass through the control system is a total mystery to me. (WS)

Mid ruby with orange tinges. Savoury and minerally and slow to open up and with the merest suggestion of oak. On the palate, cherry and raspberry and gorgeous gravelly tannins and supple acidity. Very long and juicy and youthful with a charming oak note. Already irresistible. (WS)

Just mid ruby. Mellow soft cherry nose that is still a little subdued and with a hint of pine. Supple and mellow cherry fruit on the palate, lots of concentration and super-accessible with a nice bite of ripe tannins on the finish. (WS)

Just mid ruby. Earthy, open-knit cherry fruit nose with spicy top notes. Strawberry-fruit palate with lots of juicy acidity. Not immensely complex but elegant. (WS) 

Mid ruby. Herb notes and balsamic cherry fruit on the nose and still not fully open. Supple and with lots of acidity and fine fragrant fruit that could do with a tiny bit more concentration but the finish is long and wired and with fine chewy tannins. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. Lifted and still a little closed on the nose, and a little stalky. Lots of sour-cherry fruit and grainy tannins that build a unity. Lots of acidity on the finish. (WS)

Just mid ruby. Lifted and with some intensity on the nose yet still a little brooding. Compact aromatic cherry fruit with firm tannins. Tightly built and with a big structure that promises to age well. (WS)

Mid to deep ruby. Firm, concentrated and with a little lift on the nose but not really open yet. Compact ripe sour-cherry fruit that is still a little embryonic and with attractive, chewy tannins. A little rustic and really genuine. Great balance and lots to chew on at the finish. (WS)

Developing mid ruby with narrow, bricky rim. A little rich but subdued on the nose. Cherry with hints of cinnamon bark on the palate. Lush cherry fruit with lots of rustic tannins on the finish. Further bottle ageing might do the trick. (WS)

Youthful-looking mid ruby. Balsamic hints over brooding rich fruit. Supple juicy fruit with plenty of acidity and fine chewy tannins. Very elegant, long and still a little embryonic. (WS)

Deep ruby. An enticing nose of exotic spice touches over brooding dark fruit and bags of minerally notes. Elegant yet profound on the palate with expressive raspberry fruit with a layer of chewy tannins. Concentrated and, at the same time, suave and elegant. A finely balanced whole. While the tannins could do with a little more time, I would be happy to drink this now. (WS)

Just mid ruby with orange rim. Savoury and stalky and not very fruit-driven at least right now and with a hint of cigar box and cigar leaf. Supple and elegant palate but lacks a little in depth. (WS)

Developing mid ruby with orange tinges. Already a little progressed on the nose and not hugely expressive. The palate is much fresher with ripe cherry fruit and chewy tannins. Completely ready now. (WS)

Mid ruby with orange tinges. Softly perfumed, complex raspberry and sour-cherry nose. Suave and pure fruit on the palate with gorgeous grainy tannins adding a real edge to the long finish. Substantial and elegant at the same time. Great length and stunning balance. (WS)

Mid to deep ruby with orange tinges. A little subdued at first but with brooding concentration and hints of black pepper. Supple and with wired acidity and grainy tannins, but could do with a little more stuffing. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby beginning to show some development. Brooding, with subdued intensity on the nose and a little stalky/reduced right now. Sour-cherry fruit on the palate with a heap of powdery tannins. Overall a little austere. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. Balsamic, minerally notes with ethereal hints of eucalyptus underneath. Lush, ripe fruit framed by supple acidity and chewy tannins, but overall is a little simple – or approachable, depending on how you see things. (WS)

Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Firm pine nose with subdued red fruit and just a touch of soft oak. Lots of juice and fresh cherry fruit on the palate with chewy tannins. Complex and long and a tiny bit drying on the finish, this definitely needs more time. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. Brooding richness on the nose and still a little closed on the fruit. A mouthful of sour cherry on a layer of chewy tannins. Has stuffing on the finish but ends rather sour. (WS)

Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. Brooding and deep but not showing a lot on the nose right now. Slow to unfurl on the palate, too, while there is plenty of stuffing and hints of complex oak. Lots of sour cherry and raspberry with fine, chewy tannins on the finish. Just needs more time. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. Lifted marasca-cherry nose that is still a little subdued and more open-knit on the palate with firm, drying, bitter tannins with which the fruit struggles on the finish. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. Complex, exotic nose with brooding sour cherry and a real minerally edge. Expressive, with lots of juice and depth and freshness on the palate structured by finely ground tannins adding another layer of depth. (WS)

Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Upfront, unsettled nose with quite a bit of smoky notes and oak, then with aeration becomes more minerally and complex. Supple cherry fruit with lively acidity, while the smoky oak (?) note is still quite dominant on the finish. Time might resolve this? (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. Lifted, concentrated cherry fruit nose with a hint of pine. Polished, pure sour-cherry fruit with a layer of fine gravelly tannins and cut through by ripe acidity. Quite tannic on the finish for the moment, but this has a proper future. (WS)

Lustrous and just mid ruby. Reluctant but concentrated nose with a suggestion of bacon. Focused sour-cherry fruit with underlying grainy tannins. Quite austere but has a future. (WS)

Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. A tad reduced with hints of garden herbs and a suggestion of gingerbread. Supple sweet-sour cherry with coating tannins. A tad simple for a Brunello. Ready now. (WS)

Maturing mid ruby with narrow orange rim. Exotic spice hints on an otherwise rather closed nose with just hints of sweet cherry and a little stalky. Juicy ripe cherry fruit with lots of acidity. On the finish the fruit becomes more and more aromatic and can’t be stopped by the big load of chewy tannins. (WS)

Mid ruby and showing a little bit of development. Pomegranate and cherry on the nose with a suggestion of browning apple. The fruit is quite mellow and a little nondescript on the palate, while the wonderful chewy tannins cannot entirely make up for it. (WS)

Youthful mid ruby. Balsamic and lifted but not showing it all right now. Great purity of fruit slowly showing its enormous depth. Cool and composed and with beautifully sculpted tannins. Real breed. Not ready yet. For the long haul. (WS)

Mid ruby with orange tinges. A little sour and stalky/reduced at first and with hints of tobacco leaf but growing in stature and depth on the nose with aeration. Plenty of sour-cherry fruit and powdery tannins. Still unsettled and embryonic yet promising. (WS)

Maturing mid ruby with orange tinges. Very backward and closed on the nose. Compact, polished and finely balanced with real concentration but for the moment monolithic and closed. (WS)

Beautiful, lustrous ruby. Noble restraint on the nose and takes its time to open up. Brooding complexity and minerality and only with lots of aeration it reveals layer after layer without showing it all. Taut and embryonic on the palate with a deep layer of finely chiselled, gravelly tannins and supple acidity. Elegant and with fantastic balance but the whole needs time to come together. Patience will pay off. (WS)

Mid ruby with orange tinges. Savoury and spicy with hints of sweet fruit and gingerbread underneath and a hint of cigar box. Rather sweet cherry fruit on the palate that is certainly long and persistent and with coating tannins clinging to the finish. Ready now. (WS)

Lush and focused raspberry and cherry fruit with beautiful depth and a complexity that is easy to overlook but is definitely there. Bags of gravelly tannins that stay perfectly underneath the fruit. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. A little herbal and nondescript on the nose with more concentration on the palate but could be purer. Hard to see how this will develop right now. (WS)

Lustrous mid to deep ruby. Deep and a little exotic on the nose with pure cherry and raspberry underneath. Succulent cherry and raspberry fruit underpinned by fine gravelly tannins. Elegant and fluid. (WS)

Mid ruby. Unusual nutty nose with hints of subdued cherry and herb liqueur. Supple and without any edges on the palate and with sweet-sour cherry aromas and soft, gritty tannins on the finish. Long and focused. Can age but is already approachable. (WS)

Mid ruby with orange rim. A little developed on the nose with hints of tar over ripe sour cherry. Sweet creamy notes over sour-cherry fruit on the palate. This has real vigour, if a little rustic. Ready now. (WS)

Mid to deep ruby. Rich and a little brooding with hints of stalks and a suggestion of oak. Lively acidity over sour-cherry fruit with chewy tannins. Could be a little more complex, but is softly fragrant and long nonetheless. (WS)

Mid ruby that is already a little maturing. A cherry nose that is a little rich and with a hint of gingerbread, while showing plenty of depth. Supple, aromatic cherry fruit and already quite accessible. Long, sandy tannins on the finish. Ready now. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. Balsamic cherry nose of real concentration but not showing it all right now. Supple, polished cherry fruit perfectly balanced by ripe acidity and with a hint of cinnamon. Mid ruby. Savoury at first but showing spicy sour-cherry fruit notes with aeration. Supple and juicy with soft drying tannins, but the nose could be a little more precise and less stalky. (WS)

Deep, youthful, lustrous ruby. Complex and rich, but not sweet, red-fruit nose of real intensity. Gorgeous, succulent polished and lush raspberry fruit with hints of damson. Real elegance and at the same time great depth of fruit carried by a thick layer of chewy tannins that make themselves noticed but stay perfectly in line with the long fruit. Fantastic balance. Impossible to resist this, although it is bound to improve with age. (WS)

Palish developing ruby with broad, watery rim. Rather evolved on the nose and with meaty hints and tobacco leaf. A little thin and sour on the palate and lacking in real stuffing. (WS)

Suave cherry fruit on the palate, elegant and polished but closes up on the finish. Finely ground, persistent tannins frame the whole. Serious stuff that won’t be hastened. (WS)

Lustrous mid youthful ruby. Elegant and slowly unfurling. Complex, cool and perfumed and with a subtle, fine vein of spice and cool mineral notes. Crushed raspberry and hints of orange with a precise, firm tannic tail. Long and transparent. (WS)

Just mid ruby with watery orange rim. Perfumed sour cherry with hints of stalks on the nose and a suggestion of what looks like oak. On the palate, sour cherry that lacks a little in persistence to balance out the chewy, slightly drying tannins. Could do with a little more proper fruit. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby with watery orange rim. Stalky sour cherry on the nose, but with aeration shows great depth of fruit. Polished cherry fruit with supple acidity and gravelly tannins that turn a tiny bit dry on the finish. (WS)

Mid ruby with bricky rim. Lifted, balsamic and with a hint of gingerbread, but with aeration becoming more multilayered. Supple marasca-cherry fruit and chewy tannins and a juicy aromatic finish. Seems ready now but the firm tannins on the finish suggest this needs more time. (WS)

Mid ruby. Subdued, sweet perfumed red-fruit nose with the subtlest of tobacco-leaf notes. Supple, polished cherry fruit lined with deep grainy tannins. Ready now but has further potential. (WS)

Maturing mid ruby with narrow brick rim. Seemingly fast-maturing nose with notes of undergrowth and tobacco leaf and with an undertow of cherry. More youthful and energetic but not particularly full on the palate with heaps of gravelly tannins. It cannot entirely shake off the impression that it is progressing a little faster than it should. Lustrous youthful crimson. Dark and complex and still a little closed with the subtlest hint of garden mint. Succulent and suave red fruit with firm but finely ground tannins. Still a little unsettled and embryonic but has stunning balance. (WS) 

Just mid ruby. Pine and balsamic cherry on the nose with an earthy, minerally note. Juicy cherry fruit on the palate and with plenty of depth and gravelly tannins and a cheeky sweet-oak note on the finish. (WS)

Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Minerally nose that is slow to open to fruit. Elegant, fragrant and cool and a little backward on the palate with finely ground chewy tannins. Long and unostentatious. Like a sinewy thoroughbred horse. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. A tiny bit stalky and reduced but with aeration that disappears, hence decanting wouldn’t be a bad idea. Subtle aromatic sour-cherry fruit on the nose with an earthy minerally note. Supple sour-cherry fruit with lively acidity and grainy tannins. Youthful and energetic. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. Firm, lifted and a little peppery on the nose while the fruit is still a little hidden. Supple but still closed on the palate and savoury rather than fruity with bags of chewy tannins. Probably will show better after more bottle age, so the judgment is still out. (WS)

Dark ruby with very narrow orange rim. Super-distinctive and almost exotic with balsamic- and eucalyptus-like notes. Embryonic still. Minerally and with hints of liquorice, but truly coming from the terroir. A hint of violet, black pepper and iron. Savoury, minerally almost salty cherry palate with wall-to-wall ripe tannins. Lush, juicy yet savoury and deep finish. Needs at least five or more years to come round. Still compact in spite of its generosity. (WS)

Just mid ruby. A reluctant nose that isn’t showing much right now. Quite stubborn on the palate too, but with lurking cherry fruit. Definitely needs more time to show what it is about. Right now it lacks a little in charm. (WS)

Lustrous ruby. Really subdued but with quite a bit of concentration. Quite a spice-laden nose but with aeration, cherry notes emerge. Juicy and much less concentrated on the palate than the nose would have it. The tannins are a tiny bit dry and there could be a little more fruit on the finish. (WS)

Mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. A pure, sweet-sour cherry nose with a hint of black pepper and gaining in depth with aeration. Lots of juice on the palate and youthful and fresh with fine, gravelly tannins. Perfectly balanced and elegant yet with plenty of stuffing for a long life. Energetic finish. (WS)

One month on the skins and aged for more than 36 months in large oak casks. Certified organic by ICEA.
Lustrous deep ruby. Very youthful and lifted with raspberry and hints of blood orange. Lush and composed on the palate at the same time and with a thick layer of grainy tannins. Very long, lush and dramatic. (WS)

Just mid ruby with orange tinges. A little stalky and sour on the nose and in need of lots of aeration before it opens up to shy, perfumed cherry. On the palate, lots of sour red fruit and powdery tannins. Embryonic but with a long, subtle cherry length. This needs more time to unfurl. (WS)

Mid to deep ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Savoury and a little earthy, while the fruit is still a little hidden. Supple and with plenty of lush acidity. Powdery tannins on the finish. Solid. (WS)

Maturing and just mid ruby with narrow bricky rim. At first a little herbal and not giving many clues on the nose. Juicy cherry fruit and gravelly tannins that are a tiny bit astringent on the finish. Not enormously complex. (WS)

Mid ruby. Hints of pine over balsamic and lifted cherry fruit. Fresh cranberry and cherry fruit on the finish with fine, grainy tannins. Long and elegant. Great precision. (WS)

Lustrous mid ruby. Lifted, perfumed cherry nose with hints of cinnamon and chalky minerally notes. Gorgeous, supple sour-cherry and raspberry fruit with finely ground chewy tannins. Very long and with a full spread on the finish. (WS)

Mid to deep ruby. Seems already a little developed with hints of chalk. Sweet fruit that lacks a little in definition and with underlying chewy tannins. No great excitement here. (WS)

Mid to deep lustrous ruby. Brooding and deep and with real intensity of lifted cherry. Black-pepper top notes and hints of smoked bacon from oak. Still a little brooding but jewel-like cherry fruit and firm but chewy tannins and lots of ripe acidity. Needs more time, and deserves it. (WS)

Maturing mid ruby with narrow bricky rim. A rich sour-cherry nose with dark tobacco leaves and already a little evolved. Supple sweet cherry fruit with a hint of cinnamon and coating tannins. A real charmer of a wine that will disappoint no one. Ready now. (WS)

Just mid ruby. Lifted, youthful pine nose with hints of cherry. Supple and juicy with heaps of gravelly tannins. Plenty of aromatic, rich fruit balanced by juicy acidity. Can already be approached. (WS)

Mid ruby. Brooding dark fruit and with some concentration on the nose. Rich but not sweet cherry fruit with a dose of finely ground tannins. Well balanced and long. Solid. (WS)

Healthy mid ruby. A little austere on the nose with hints of iron, wet earth and sour cherry. Sweet-sour cherry fruit with gritty tannins that stick to the palate. Long, but could do with a touch more intensity. (WS)

Lustrous ruby. Proper fruit concentration on the nose which at times is in short supply in this vintage. Compact and concentrated on the palate and with plenty of fruit that is still backward. Gravelly tannins and supple acidity and long but subdued fruit on the finish. A finely balanced whole that just needs more time. (WS)

Just mid ruby. Balsamic and still rather closed on the fruit and with only hints of cherry and raspberry. Animating red fruit that is still a little backward on the palate with ripe acidity and compact, gravelly tannins. Not ready yet and with real potential. (WS)

Maturing mid ruby with orange tinges. Herbal notes and dark, dried tobacco leaf over sour cherry on the nose and with a hint of cinnamon. Cumin hints over cherry fruit on the palate with beautiful coating tannins. A little rustic, definitely genuine and with age this will improve. (WS)
