I finally made it to the annual get-together of European wine communicators organised by Ryan and Gabriella Opaz and Robert McIntosh. This year’s was held in the literally stunning lakeside setting of Montreux because sponsored by Swiss Wine Promotion. (Previous editions have variously been held in Rioja, Turkey, Austria, Franciacorta, and Lisbon.) We were blessed with cloudless skies, and even a well-placed moon, and waking up to see the sun rising over the alps across the lake – the view from my balcony shown here – was almost worth the journey itself.
