As Michael wrote here yesterday, German wine drinkers and producers have become increasingly fond of grape varieties that are members of the Pinot family – especially Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder) but also Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder). At the end of last year I had a chance to taste a selection of some of the best of these wines, along with notable German whites made from other non-Riesling grapes, thanks to a tasting organised by The World of Fine Wine.
