Justerini & Brooks' Italian portfolio could be summarised as ‘solid and classic’. While J&B's main competitor, Berry Bros & Rudd, have gone left field, J&B have so far resisted the temptation to become über-fashionable, and there wasn’t a single skin-fermented white or unsulphured wine to be seen in their recent presentation in London. Instead, classic wines from classic regions all more or less based on indigenous varieties, make up the core of their pricey but well-chosen portfolio, even if the main inspiration still seems to come from broker Marc de Grazia.
