19 April 2017 Our shortlist is published today.

8 April 2017 Nearly six months after the inception of our wine writing competition, we are delighted to announce that it is reaching its grand finale. We will continue to publish the best entries from a total of 180 – sometimes both and sometimes only the better one of the articles submitted by 53 different competitors – until Thursday 6 April. All of them will eventually be listed in the table below, so keep checking back for the latest additions.

Between Friday 7 April and Thursday 13 April, you will have a chance to vote on your favourites. Then, over the Easter weekend, Team JR will assemble a shortlist, to be announced on Wednesday 19 April.

The overall winner will be announced live at our Sherry Night in London on Sunday 23 April. At the time of writing, there are just over a dozen tickets still available for this event.

We would like to thank everyone who entered the competition. It was delightful but overwhelming to receive such a large number of high-quality articles. It is very heartening to see such enthusiasm and dedication to wine from all corners of the planet.
