26 July 2017 Enter our summer quiz to win a pair of tickets worth £70 + VAT to the big wine tasting that follows the AWIW award ceremony at Australia House in London on 26 September.

18 July 2017 There are just two weeks left to enter yourself or nominate someone you know for these seriously worthwhile awards. I will be presenting the award we have sponsored at the awards ceremony at Australia House in London on the morning of 26 September. In the evening there will be a major public tasting event. Watch out for our competition to win five pairs of tickets to this.

22 May 2017 We are delighted to be sponsoring one of the eight categories in this year’s Australian Women in Wine Awards (AWIWA), for which entries are now invited.

  • Winemaker of the Year – sponsored by WineArk
  • Viticulturist of the Year – sponsored by Wine Australia
  • Owner / Operator of the Year – sponsored by JancisRobinson.com
  • Workplace Champion of Change – sponsored by Winemakers Federation of Australia
  • Cellar Door Person of the Year – sponsored by Platinum Bags
  • Researcher of the Year
  • Marketer of the Year – sponsored by Brown Brothers
  • Woman of Inspiration – sponsored by Irvine Wines

Candidates should complete their own entry form, but anyone in the wine community may nominate potential candidates via a simple process on the AWIWA website. When a woman in wine (or male champion of change) is nominated, they are contacted and encouraged to enter.

This is the third year the awards have been run, and for the first time the winners will be announced as part of a grand tasting event celebrating Australian Women in Wine in London, in conjunction with the generic body Wine Australia. More than 60 Australian women in wine will be flying to London for the big event on 26 September.

In conjunction with the eight official AWIWA awards, this year Wine Australia is introducing a one-off award for an Honorary Australian Woman in Wine, which will be presented to a woman in the UK trade who has made a significant contribution to Australian wine.

The entire awards programme is funded by various partners and award sponsors. This year’s Gold Partners include Pernod-Ricard Winemakers, WBM magazine, Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch and Tonnellerie Saint Martin.

For more information see the AWIWA website.
